with the release of the here+ hardware, and the option of the Edison on the full carrier board, I would like to propose a couple of projects for the use of this equipment.
the first project is PPK. by turning the raw logging function on with the Here+ within Ardupilot, you can already do PPK from the log at a later date. what would be very interesting however, is to do the PPK RTK on the Edison using this data, and mixing that with the live stream of additude and sensor data coming from the Pixhawk 2, to do some more tightly coupled calculations as to position accuracy.
we would love to talk to any project that has some proven track record in this area.
The second project is an open Base Station project. We would like to see a minimal setup, using an Intel Edison (or Joule) paired with the Here Base, surveyed in precisely, this data in turn shared on a common server for all in the open community to use.
The data would be available for anyone in your area to share, removing the need for a subscription or a base for the majority of users. Our goal is that the here+ is the GPS that everyone uses, and that they can do this with ease.
